Description: Nuclear security culture is a critical element to a sustainable security program at any facility. Too often technology is considered the most important asset in physical security, but without a dedicated, engaged, and knowledgeable staff, even the best technology is doomed to failure. The human element is a critical differentiator between acceptable and great security. Each facility has to navigate many site-specific circumstances in developing and promoting a culture where security is seen as an integral part of everyday life, particularly when nobody is watching. As such, the path to a great security culture will vary from facility to facility, but we can all learn from the successes and failures of others.
